It is a privilege to be able to capture your most valuable memories of your new little one! As a mother, I truly understand how precious and delicate your new baby is. Your newborn's safety is my number one priority during the session. Please rest assured that I would never do anything to put your baby in any kind of danger or harmful situation. Your newborn session is a very special milestone and I want to help capture this fleeting moment.
Before the Session I have a few helpful tips that will ensure that your session will go smoothly and you will have a happy photogenic baby. If possible, try to keep baby awake for 1-2 hours before the session. This would be a good time to give them a bath because a bath will nicely stimulate them and prepare them for a state of peaceful sleep. I also recommend feeding your baby an ounce or two right before leaving your home and once again when arriving at the studio, this will ensure baby has full belly and ready to sleep at the start of the session. Sessions usually last 2-3 hours so be prepared to have extra formula, if baby takes formula, on hand. Some babies will need additional feedings compared to a normal schedule. Please bring a pacifier, as this can be very helpful during the session to help settle baby. The studio is kept at a very warm temperature to ensure baby remains warm and comfortable while in their birthday suit, so I recommend that parents dress in layers so that you can remove some if you are too warm. During the Session Half the session I will be doing baby in basket poses which are a breeze to go through if baby is sleeping. During this time, you are more than welcome to lounge on the couch and relax! After the basket poses, we will be moving on to other props that do require mom or dad's help. Baby's safety is number 1! Some pictures require parents to support baby's head or hands in certain poses that will later be removed during editing. Things to make sure to bring:
I do provide all props, including headbands and wraps. If you have something specific you would like me to use please let me know prior to session. I can't wait to meet your new precious babies!
